Day #7 of 10 Days of Prayer

Day 7 of 10 Days Of Prayer

Today we are going to look at something really negative in hopes that we will not repeat the same tragic mistakes. Saul was anointed but He did not honour the anointing and he experienced a tragic end. Let’s be sure that we don’t have any of these attitudes at work in our lives. Stay in step with the Spirit. Don’t grieve the Spirit

Galatians 5:25  “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” (Keep in step!)

Romans 8:14  “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

There is a place called in the spirit: For you to be effective as a believer you must operate in another realm. The Kingdom life can only be lived in the Spirit. No other environment will be fruitful.  Walk, Pray, Worship, Live in Spirit.

Stay in the Spirit and you can finish the race strong!!!

Saul is an example of how not to finish.

1 Samuel 10:6-11 — Anointed Start

“Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you mightily…”

1 Samuel 13:13    —  Carnal Failure

“…foolishly! You have not kept the commandment of the Lord …the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever;…”

2 Samuel 1:21      — Tragic End

“…For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, as though he were not anointed with oil.”

David laments the death of Saul. He did not have to experience this unanointed conclusion to his life.

1Samuel 15:35

“Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the LORD was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.”

7 actions that quench the flow of the Spirit in you life.

1. Insecurity

1Samuel 13:3-4

“Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost,…Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said, So all Israel heard the news: “Saul has attacked the Philistine outpost,…”

1 Samuel 18:7-9 “…Saul [jealously] eyed David…”

2. Fleshly Dependence

1Sa. 13:8-14

“…and the people were scattered from him…I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.”

Could not wait on God. Had to take matters in his own hands.

3. Compromise

1 Sa. 15:9

“But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them:…”

Agag was a descendant of Amalek and is a type of the flesh. It must be utterly destroyed. Don’t compromise with the flesh!

4. Presumption

1 Sa. 15:15

“…for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.”

Saul thought of a better way to obey God.

Giving God what He didn’t ask for.

5. Fear Of Man

1Sa. 15:17, 30

“When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?”

“…before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me,…”

He was more concerned about how he looked before the people.

6. Refusal To Change

1Sa. 15:19-21

“Why haven’t you obeyed the Lord? Why did you rush for the plunder and do what was evil in the Lord’s sight?”

“But I did obey the Lord,” Saul insisted. “I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else.”

His customized his obedience to suit himself.

Proverbs 1:23 “Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,…”

Do what He says and walk in the blessing!

7. Total Rebellion

1Sa. 15:22-23

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, …stubbornness…is as… idolatry…thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”

1 Samuel 28:7  “Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit,…”

Now that was a sad progression. We can avoid those attitudes.

CONFESSIONS:

I will live a life of constant consecration to the Holy Spirit.

I will not fall into the trap of self-preservation.

I refuse to live an unanointed moment.

PRAYER DIRECTIVES:

Thank Him that those actions and attitudes are not manifest in our lives.  He preserves us as we abide in Him.

Pray that we would choose to live a life in the Spirit and finish the race strong!

Decree 2015 to be our healthiest year yet!  No more sickness or disease among us, but divine health.

The corporate prayer meeting for tonight is cancelled due to the snow.  Stay home, warm and safe.  Leave all of your prayers below instead.  Blessings!

How great it is to serve the living and loving God., We rejoice in the blessings that are daily laid upon us. We enjoy the freedom that comes with trusting in Your wisdom, guidance and counsel. We hold in high regard life coaching and correction that comes through godly relationships. We continue to value and treat with honour these relationships. Thank-you Jesus for resurrection life, we choose life – to walk in the Spirit and give no place to a lifestyle of self preservation, distrust and insecurity. We lean not on our own understanding but in all things we press into Your Kingdom and seek Your will redeeming the time.

We do not fear people or political systems; we hold fast our confidence in You God knowing that You are faithful to bring to completion the good work that you began in us! We trust and declare that 2015 is going to be the best year of our lives yet! In Your name Jesus we have total peace, total provision, total health, total life and even more abundant life. We Your church stand in the revelation of how good God is and how wonderful His promises are to us!!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. We do not run in vain but instead we run in accordance with the understanding that though impossible with man – all things are possible with God – We waste no time dwelling in past failure but instead we press on and make our boast in God meditating on whatever is good and true.

May our hearts be continually after Your heart God; our plans saturated with the anointing, our steps directed by You Holy Spirit. The great cloud of witnesses cheering us on — let’s confidently enlarge our vision and sphere of influence. The best is yet to come and that starts today – today is better than yesterday and tomorrow will be better than today…from glory to glory our path is brighter and brighter. The light in us shining out in all circumstances, to all that are oppressed and heavy — our very presence changes the atmosphere! We overcome evil with good.

We bless the Lord – everything in us blesses the Lord – we give no place to sickness and disease. We rejoice for the life of Christ that is in us – that life, the very nature of God swallows up death and sickness!! Smeared with goodness and heath we continue to enjoy each step forward!

‘Walk with me and work with me –watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace’ Matthew 11: 30.
‘We can do all things through and in Jesus who gives us the strength and the power’ Phil 4:13.
‘Having received the gift of righteousness we reign as kings in life by Jesus’ Romans 5:17.

Always liked the Australian aboriginal Pidgin English translation of righteousness as ‘God say him alright’ God please enable us to receive revelation that we are as right with you as is Jesus, and that you love, approve and accept us just as you do Jesus. Help us, as the writer of Hebrews puts it, ‘to lean our entire lives on Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in his infinite power, wisdom, goodness and love’.

Father God thank you for 2015! This is going to be a year where we take ownership of who we are in Christ, what has been spoken over our lives! We are created in your image you are partnering with us, we are not alone. You said you would never leave us or forsake us. You are our Good Shepard and you lead us into good pastures, pastures of health, prosperity, peace, sound mind, and joy! Psalm 65:11- You crown the year with your bounty , and your carts overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the desert overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness. The meadows are covered with flocks and valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing. This is our year church, take care of your seed and water it for a mighty harvest!

Amen to the prayers of my sisters and brothers. Thank you, Father, for all you are to us. Today, and throughout this year, you are our strength, our wisdom, our courage, our hope. We determine that by your grace working in us we will live and move and have our being in you, and you only.

Through our God we shall do valiantly and we are more than a conqueror through Christ! We are strong in the Lord because we are empowered with might by our union with Him. Lord thank you for supernatural strength for the people of Impact Church this year, both spiritually and physically. Let us walk forth into our destiny and never give in to the voice of the enemy.

I am so thankful for PK’s word on Sunday where God wants our resolution to be ‘one thing’…abide in the Holy Spirit. I am so thankful for Jesus and his sacrifice so that we are able to live without anything separating us from a relationship with Holy Spirit. We are also so thankful that in our moments of weakness and self-preservation that Holy Spirit you can remind us of God’s unending love and faithfulness to us. We commit this year to finishing strong and abiding in you so that you may be made manifest in our lives and a blessing to those that we encounter. We thank you Lord that your desire is that we live healthy body, soul, and spirit and we appropriate that blessing right. As I am typing this too, there is a lot of snow falling in London…we thank you Lord for your protection over all those who have to travel in this weather and we thank you for your guiding hand over them all!

You know that excitement in your spirit that you feel, like you’re so close to a huge miracle that you anticipate the second it will manifest? That’s what I feel about 2015, a year full of exciting changes, new adventures with the Lord like we have never seen before.

I’m so grateful for all the changes that God has helped me make in my life to become who I am today and who I will become tomorrow. He deserves all the Glory, He stuck with me when I was rough and tough from cruel life experiences and He’s shaped me into a more forgiving, loving, caring person then I ever thought I could be, He’s amazing.
