You Asked For It# 5: Is There A Place Called In The Spirit?

These churches (Galatians) were begun with a Holy Ghost revival. They slipped into a religion of the flesh. Paul is livid with them.

Galatians 3:1-5

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?  This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?  Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?  Have you suffered so many things in vainif indeed it was in vain? Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

A miracle of Grace gets you in and it is a miracle of grace that enables us to continue. From Glory to Glory

Romans 8:9 CEV You are no longer ruled by your desires, but by Gods Spirit, who lives in you. People who dont have the Spirit of Christ in them dont belong to him.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

D.L. Moody said: “You might as well try to hear without ears, or breathe without lungs, as try to live a Christian life without the Spirit of God in your heart.”

“This is why the Holy Spirit of God was intimate with mankind from the beginning. His indwelling presence guaranteed constant communication and fellowship with the will, mind, intent, and purposes of God and heaven so that He could execute His governments will on earth. This relationship made the Holy Spirit of God the most important person on earth and established Him as the key component of the kingdom of heaven on earth. The loss or separation of man form the Holy Spirit of God would render mankind a disqualified envoy of heaven on earth, for he, would not know the will or mind of the government of heaven for earth.”   Myles Munroe

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

Communion:– {Koinonia} fellowship, association, community, joint participation, intercourse    Intimacy – Partnership – Responsibility

Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is the one we experience the Life in Christ through.

Ephesians 2:18 For through Him (Jesus) we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Our connection with theHoly Spirit is everything.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

engraft or ingraft:
1. to graft (a shoot, bud, etc) onto a stock so the that the two grow together as one.
2. to incorporate in a firm or permanent way; implant: they engrafted their principles into the document.

For there to be a good graft you need an identical cut.

Then they must be bound together to become one.

There can be no grafting without wounding.

John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (NLT) God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (AMP)

“ But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].

Colossians 1:21-22 …yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Colossians 2:6 (GNT) Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him.

You got In Him at the cross.   He was wounded so that you could be inserted!!!

Jesus didnt do any supernatural acts without smeared with the person and power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit: came upon Him Luke 3:21-22 led (drove) Him Luke 4:1 empowered Him Luke 4:14  anointed Him Luke 4:18-21

Luke 4:18-21

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Acts 10:38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Because of Jesus life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension we have the legal right to live in the Spirit. We can also be saturated with the power of God.

Be saturated with the nature and ability of Christ to fulfill His purpose in the earth.

Luke 24:49 I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry…until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;…

Power:– {dunamis} inherent power, explosive TNT, Dynamite

Vitals For Holy Spirit Living
1. Receive —  The most difficult thing to hide is that which you do not possess.
2. Release —The Spirit is a river of Divine life that flows to you to go through you.

We are anointed!
The world needs what is in us to get upon us so that they can see the evidence of the superior kingdom that we operate in. The anointing is how we establish the flora of heaven on earth.

1 John 2:20, 27
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you;

Anointing:– The person and power of Holy Spirit working through humanity to accomplish the or a divine purpose. The unction to function.

This life is ours legally because of the blood and vitally because of our relationship with Holy Spirit.

John 14:12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

1 John 4:17 …because as he is, so are we in this world.
How is He right now?    He is reigning and ruling.    He is seated and victorious.
That is the way we are to be right now because as he is, so are we in this world.

John 14:16-18And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—  the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Remarkable thing. Little old me can hold back the power of God.

1 Thessalonians 5:19  (AMP) Do not quench (suppress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit;

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Those who are in the Spirit have to keep drawing on the life of God!

John 4:14  …but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:37-44 If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.

There is a difference between our need for the continuous filling of the Holy Spirit as opposed to the one time indwelling of the Spirit as taught in John 4:14. In John 4:14 the verb “drink” in the Greek original is in the aorist tense. Therefore, “drink” in this verse refers to an act and not a continuous action. After “drinking” that person “shall never thirst,” there is no further need to drink again.

In John 7:37-39 the verb tenses are different. In verse 37, the words “come” and “drink” in the Greek original are both imperatives in the present tense. In other words, Jesus is literally saying: “Let him keep coming to me and let him keep drinking.” Obviously, this cannot refer to the indwelling of the Spirit at the point of salvation but refers to our need for Spirit-filling throughout our Christian life.

The only normal Christian life is Sprit Filled. It’s more than an experience – it is a lifestyle – it is a destiny – it is a command from God.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by [[a]means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and [b]by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.

Ephesians 2:22 AMP In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit.
