Day 5 of 10 Days of Prayer (Jan 2021)

Day 5 of 10 Days of Prayer
By: Madeline Desousa

Pray with confidence!

Jeremiah 17:7-8
7 “Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord And whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord. 8 For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit.”

Wherever we have not yet seen answers to prayer, we can keep praying with confident expectation! And the areas that we have seen some growth, increase, or life, we can thank Jesus for it and continue to believe for the rest with certainty!

Hebrews 13:6-8

6 So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6)

7 Remember your leaders [for it was they] who brought you the word of God; and consider the result of their conduct [the outcome of their godly lives], and imitate their faith [their conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider of eternal salvation through Christ, and imitate their reliance on God with absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. 8 Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.

Sometimes to pray with confidence and faith we need to remember stories of the Jesus followers who have lived before us or listen to testimonies from people around us of how Gods goodness has been working in their lives.

It’s one of my favorite things when Pastor Karl or Cheryl begin to retell old church stories of how God came through miraculously at the beginning of their ministry. When they first moved into this building 220 Adelaide Street North, not everyone was on board or could see the vision of where Impact Church could go as a church, but they continued to believe Gods word and 30 years later here we are! In a couple of months, we will be moving again as a church, not exactly clear what they journey will look like, but with confidence we know that the Kingdom of God is continuously advancing, and we are believing for tremendous growth!

James 1:6
“But let him ask in faith, no doubting!” The Message version says “Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought!”

Prayer Directives

  • Continuing to believe with confidence that God will answer prayers!
  • Praying with full certainty that this coming transition for Impact Church will be smooth and will see prosperity in many areas! Not just resources but in people coming to Jesus as well!

Father – today we declare the certainty of our future home is in your hands. We declare our trust is well placed in You and your ability to lead us to the place of your choosing. We are not orphans or homeless but secure as children of the Most High God. We live today out of the proceeding word from your Throne and trust in your voice. Let your people display our confidence in the preferred future you have already established! London – city of God!

Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord GOD is the eternal Rock.
    —‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A little earlier we are reminded in verse 1 that, “ We are surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation.” Is it any wonder that we can rest in PERFECT PEACE when we remember that Jesus was sent to bring us into that place of comfort and rest —near to the ♥️ of God. And so we trust in quiet confidence because the Lord is our eternal rock and our salvation.
