Day #4 of 10 Days of Prayer

Day 4 of 10 Days Of Prayer

Do you have goals this year? Has the Lord put a vision of a preferred future in your heart?

The Wise Men in the Christmas story showed up after Jesus was born. The were drawn to Him by a supernatural sign. They realized their goal. We can draw some principles froths story to apply to our lives as we pursue God’s purpose for our lives this year.

Matthew 2:1-12 “…they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures … they returned to their country by another way.”

“Many are alive but few are conscious.”

Conscious:– alert and awake; not sleeping or comatose aware of one’s surroundings, one’s own thoughts and motivations, etc…

When God came to earth 2000 years ago most people, even those close by, were unaware of His arrival. Many today have still missed the point. Jesus came at the right time to change our whole world.

“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”          Gal. 4:4-7

Two types of consciousness.

1. Automatic – Reacting

Same thing over and over.

2. Accountable – Responding

A working awareness … adjusting.

The Wise Men recognized that an event of global significance was taking place.

Through specific and accountable actions they realized their goal.

7 Actions Of Wise Men.

They Were:

1. Paying Attention

“…we have seen His star…”

“Be on guard! Be alert ! You do not know when that time will come.” Mark 13:33

2. Consumed With A Purpose

“… come to worship Him.”

“Empires of the future are empires of the mind.” Winston Churchill

What do you desire?

3. Willing To Exert Themselves

“…at its rising have come…”

“Give, and it shall be given unto you…”

Luke 6:38 “…rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” He 11:6

4. Not Going To Give Up

“…they went their way…” (9)

Herod didn’t spook them. They pressed on.

“…at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal. 6:9

5. Willing To Get Happy

“…they were thrilled with ecstatic

joy.” (10) Pursuing God is a

joy filled trip.

6. Willing To Worship

“…fell down and worshiped Him. Then

opening their treasure bags,…” (11)

God wants worshippers who worship.

7. Willing To Change

“…departed to their own country by a

different way.” (12)

You can’t go back the same way when you have had a genuine encounter with Jesus

God is at work in your world right now. Be conscious of what He is doing. Be one of those that is responsible and knows what the Spirit is doing right now.

I just wanted everyone at Impact to know how much I appreciate everything you do for me – the prayer, the encouragement and support, the sense of community. This year is filled with so much hope for me – university, glassblowing. Things I never thought possible, things I never even considered, are now within reach for me because of the steps I took in faith. More and more I believe in God’s word for me. Thank you all for playing such a vital role in my transformative journey. A special thanks to Pastor Karl(the crazy preacher with his crazy vision of moving his church to Adelaide and Little Simcoe) for his sermon last Sunday. As excited as I am for my plans in 2015, it was nice to be reminded God has so much more in store for me. Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine…”

    Father,
As we ended 2014 declaring your faithfulness through the year, we go into this new year declaring that your lovingkindness is our portion through every day. We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us, and we overcome every obstacle through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. We declare what you declare, because it is truth. We declare that your favour is on us in double measure; we declare that the kingdom in us is manifested, easily seen, both in us and through us; we declare that the victory gained at the cross is on our mind and in our hearts, that your presence is our hope and our joy in 2015. That we release you into our homes, cities, country. And watch you change them and us. Thank you for not ever giving up.
