Day 2 of 10 Days of Prayer

Day 2 of 10 Days of Prayer, Wisdom in Times of Transition
With Zach Sloane, September 2, 2020

Time of transition, uncertainty, back to school, back to work, decisions to be made at every level in families, government, schools, churches etc.

We are moving forward in some uncertain times. We don’t know what’s going to happen, how it’s going to unfold. So, we need wisdom as we move into the season… but we have some promises. First of all:

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Let’s go into the future without fear. Whatever it looks like God is with us.

Secondly,

Know that the future is bright. It might be uncertain, but it is good.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

So the future, we need wisdom and we need we need to approach this time with confidence in the goodness of God, and know that because God is good, so is our future

Ecclesiastes 7:8-10
Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.

10 Say not, Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.

James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

Let’s Pray:

Pray for peace and confidence as we transition into a time of change.

Pray for a vision of a preferred future to overtake every believer, and may our hope be contagious

Pray for wisdom for our leaders in government and our school systems as we navigate back to school, re-opening, and the challenges that come with it.

Pray for wisdom for church leaders, families and business, all in times of transition in this season.

“And so I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth!”
    —‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As I read this verse I am reminded that, as a child of God, I am always walking in His presence. I carry the Lord’s presence everywhere I go, and this includes peace, wisdom and the confidence to walk into the preferred future He has prepared for me and for everyone who calls upon His name.

Father, your goodness is our portion, your wisdom is ours for the asking and You have declared a preferred future for the entire cosmos! We declare blessing and peace across our families, your church and this amazing country as many go through transition. Comfort those who are fearful and give joy to those who are distressed. May this day be filled with encouragement and expectation of better times rushing towards us! Let your people be quick to give an answer for the joy within them that confidence should be established all around us!

May the wisdom of the tribe of Issachar that would allow His church to discern and know the times and seasons of God, flood our understanding. May great grace to walk in this calling be an overwhelming flood.
We ask for wisdom knowing you will not turn us away nor withhold it.
With great expectations and a heart full of thankfulness…. We say amen.
    Open wisdoms doors in 2024!
