Day 7 of 10 Days of Prayer

Day 7 of 10 Days of Prayer, Simeon Hearing
By: Pastor D. Karl Thomas

Your Quality Of Hearing Affects Your Quality Of Life.

Mark 4:24
“Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.

Simeon was a man who heard and partnered with Gods purposes in his day.

Luke 2:25-32
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: 29 “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word; 30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation 31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, 32 A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

Simeon”:– harkening, able to hear.
During the noise of his day he was able to tune into the frequency of Holy Spirit and he was in the right place at the right time.
SOMEONE IN EVERY GENERATION IS HEARING AND DECLARING THE PURPOSES OF GOD INTO THE EARTH … EVEN FOR JESUS TO COME THERE HAD TO BE A COMMUNITY THAT CONFESSED THIS!!!

How is this generation hearing?

3 Hindrances To Hearing
1. DOUBT
James 1:6-7 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;”

2. FEAR
Mark 5:35-36 “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

3. UNBELIEF
Hebrews 3:16, 19, 4:2 “For who, having heard, rebelled? … So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief … but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
Basic Hearing Requirements
1. Truth “just and devout” (25)   Lay hold of well … He had embraced the truth well … working knowledge
2. Intimacy “Holy Spirit upon” (25) Relationship with God tight with Holy Spirit
3. Available “waiting for” (25) Waiting … people who wait are strong … people who wait are ready ACTS FOR
4. Dependant “by the Spirit” (27) Do everything in His power … go in His strength!!!
5. Obedient “he took Him up” (28) Haven’t really heard until you manifest obedience …

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You must speak His plans into existence … therefore you must be someone who HEARS WELL!!!

Gods promises must be activated by bold faith confessions.

PRAYER DIRECTIVES:

1. Pray as the Spirit leads … take a moment and ask what is on the heart of God. You will hear. You can speak His purpose into manifestation. Listen to the Spirit … say what He is saying.

2. Pray for a hunger in God’s people to hear his voice.

3. Pray that the church would grow in grace and the knowledge of God.

4. Pray for the service Sunday. People will encounter God.

5. Pray for leaders … pray for political leaders.

And I hear the Lord saying He is freeing people who are entangled in fear doubt and unbelief. We pray into that and declare FREEDOM to God’s people everywhere and we release a spirit of wisdom and revelation upon them in the deep and intimate knowledge of Christ our Saviour!! More knowledge of you oh God, more intimacy, more hearing and more declaring of your Kingdom”s heart upon this earth. Refresh and strengthen our pastors this day. Clear vision, deeper intimacy with you. Just love on them today in special special ways. AMEN!

I heard a story this morning that broke my heart about a homeless man in Miami. When so many were trying to evacuate the city or to seek refuge from the storm, this poor soul was trying to get bus fare to return to his only safe place — beneath a bridge overpass on I-75. “Unto the least of these”… Father, give us ears to hear the cries of the hopeless, homeless and the destitute, and to respond with hearts overflowing with the loving-kindness of Jesus. Amen!

Let those who have ears to hear, hear the voice of the Spirit! Hearing brings peace and certainty- Jesus himself said my sheep know my voice. It is natural and organic for God’s people to know His voice. We don’t strive to hear, simply trust you can. The Lord is saying in the midst of all the noise in our lives, “Be still and know that I am God”.

I heard the Lord say today that He is coming to finish what He has authored in our lives and hearts. That we are going to know Him as the One who closes for us, who takes us all the way. There is a hope that does not disappoint!!! There is a church, and it will grow, that manifests the full measure of Jesus in every aspect of our lives, that manifests the light of life from a hill for all to see, and that walks in the full measure of the power and life that Jesus has already placed within us.
