The Response Jesus Expects:

1. That’s Impossible.         2. I Surrender

3. I Trust You.                    4. I Rest In Your Abiding Presence

Romans 4:1b-3 “What did he discover about being made right with God?  If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God’s way.  For the Scriptures tell us, ‘Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.’”

Romans 4:4 “When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned.  But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.”

Stay Free From The Yoke Of Religious Performance!

Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”  “… don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.”  (NLT)

Acts 15:10 (NLT) “So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear?:”

Acts 15:10 (MSG) “So why are you now trying to out-god God, loading these new believers down with rules that crushed our ancestors and crushed us, too?”

Stay Free From The Yoke Of Humanistic Philosophies!

2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”

Rest is Grace personified.

Rest comes by Faith.

Rest says the work is finished.

Rest says put the tools down.

Rest says come away with me.

Titus 2:11-12 (ESV) “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,”
