Day 2 of 10 Days of Prayer, Jan 2021

Day 2 of 10 Days of Prayer, Psalm 121 (Jan 2021)
By: Stefan Nichol

Assurance of God’s Protection

A Song of Ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
the creator of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
He who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and forevermore.

We are in a pandemic, but it is not simply Covid-19. Currently there is a pandemic of poverty, a pandemic of isolation, a pandemic of loneliness, a pandemic of selfishness and greed caused by fear of lack. So many mountains. From where is our help to come?

God can guard your heart, your mind, your finances, sustaining you through the most difficult of times. The Lord does not sleep, He never takes His eyes off you, you are forever in the Palm of His hand. He will neither forsake you or abandon you.  Trust in Him.

Pray:

Be grateful. Offer up prayers of thanks for God’s sustaining power in our lives.

Thank the One who made all things through His word for being the true source in your life.

Pray for those in the community facing isolation, loneliness, poverty. This is not God’s plan for them.

After this – there will be an after this, what does that look like? Pray to God for guidance as you prepare to enter the new year.

    “The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.” Wow … it is amazing how bold you can be entering into a New Year knowing that God is so vitally engaged in your life. “If God be for me, who can be a giants me.” He is for me. He has blessed my coming and going. Then let’s do it big! Let’s make His goodness known. Let us not rest until every person on the planet hears that He is good and sees the truth of that manifest in every area of my life!!! Work through us Father to meet the needs of the broken and hurting in our world. Let us express true religion. James 1:27 “Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.” 2021 is a breakout year. Revelation of His goodness (GLORY) fully manifest!!!

    Father we look to you this day. We look up to where our hope comes from – from the Most High who is enthroned above all things. We trade our disappointments for your joy and put off the the garments of mourning for your praise! We trade up into your goodness and glory that all around us will know of Your power to affect this world and demonstrate your love for all around us!
