In Him.”

Ecclesiological

Genesis 24:10-24 “And when she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.” Then she quickly emptied her pitcher into the trough, ran back to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.”

10 Camels …at least.   17 day journey … 435 miles.
Camel can drink 20-30 gallons of water in 10 minutes. She RAN … QUICKLY.
Busiest time at the well.    A two hour commitment to some heavy lifting.

2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

This was an act of kindness she did for a total stranger. Getting him water was expected.
Watering the camels was going the second mile.
She distinguished herself.  She sealed her destiny.
What would shift if you watered the camels in your marriage?
What would shift if you watered the camels at your work place?
What would happen if you watered the camels of neighbours?       2nd MILE LIFE!

Matthew 5:13-20, 38-48 “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. … And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.”
“You have heard that it was said… But I say…”    RADICAL SHIFT

Historians write that many Jews would step off the 1,000 paces in front of their property and post markers. And because the law said so, they would carry the load from marker to marker and not one inch more.
Jesus words would have abruptly confronted the status quo.

Jesus taught the law on steroids!
“But I say to you that whoever is angry…”   “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust…
“…turn the other (CHEEK) to him also.   “But I say to you, love your enemies,…”

Are we content with just being blessed or, do we want our life to be a blessing to all?
Do something without being asked.    Do more then you are asked.
Do something without any expectation of return.

Pastor this sounds like striving. I’m exhausted!!!
When you “do your best” for someone, you go the first mile. When God does His best through you, you experience the second mile.

1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

Colossians 1:28-29 “…that we may present every person mature (full-grown, fully initiated, complete, and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One). For this I labor [unto weariness], striving with all the superhuman energy which He so mightily enkindles and works within me.”

2 Corinthians 11:24-26 “…five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; … in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;…”
I am what I am by the GRACE…

Pastor in Cuba
3 times his house has been confiscated by the Castro government.
He gets a new home and begins again. Working full time at the airport. 2nd Mile Ministry!

The supernatural life will overwhelm you with more time, energy, and peace.
Compelled to freely give more away!
God does not reward your duty, He blesses your relationship with Jesus.
It’s time to experience radical living.
It’s time to water camels.         It’s time to enter  the second mile!
