 John 2:5  “His mother said to the servants, ‘Whatever He says to you, do it.’”

A little girl asked her mum, “How did the human race appear?”
Mum answered, “God made Adam and Eve and they had children, and so was all mankind made …”
Two days later the girl asked her Dad the same question.
Dad answered, “Many years ago there was primordial slime from which the human race evolved.”
The confused girl returned to her mum and said, “Mum, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from primordial slime?”
The mother answered, “Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his!”

1. My mother taught me To PRAY.   “You better pray that stain will come out of the carpet.”

2. My mother taught me LOGIC.  “Because I said so, that’s why.”

3. My mother taught me Miracles. ”If you fall out of that tree and break your legs, don’t come running to me.”

4. My mother taught me about STAMINA.  “You’ll sit there until all that liver is gone.”

5. My mother taught me about WEATHER. “This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it.”

6. My mother taught me about EXPECTATION.  “Just wait till your Father gets home.”

7. And my favorite: My mother taught me about JUSTICE   “One day you’ll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!”

Romans 8:16 (NIV) “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

Romans 8:16 (MSG) “God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.”

Hebrews 1:2-3 “… in these last days spoken to us by His Son, … who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person,…”

John 16:13-14 “…when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; … and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”

Acts 10:19 “While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, ‘Behold, three men are seeking you.’”

Ezekiel 2:2  “And the Spirit entered into me when He spoke to me and set me upon my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me.”

Luke 8:18 “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken  away from them.”

Ephesians 2:18 “For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”

John 10:27  “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

Hearing The Voice Of The Spirit Is:  1. Innate — In your DNA    2. Learned — Use your words!   

3. Matured — Revelation Knowledge    4. Attacked —  Mark 4:15 “Satan comes immediately and takes away the word.”

5. It’s A Lifestyle

Proverbs 3:6  (MESSAGE) “Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.”

Matthew 4:4 “But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Holy Spirit is talking to you.  You can hear.

Two Basic Obstacles:  1. Religious Legalism   2. Busyness Muchness

Some Practical Advice:

1. Take Time To Pray

Luke 5:16  “So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.”

Acts 3:1 “Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.”

2. Find A Place To Pray

Matthew 6:6 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
