Day 9 of 10 Days Of Prayer January 2, 2023

“There can be no revival without soul-winning. In saving lost souls the Welsh Revival must be considered one of the most intense and effective revivals of all time. This was not a program for a few preachers or a campaign to get church members testifying to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus. There were no classes given on how to reach the lost. It just seemed that every Christian in Wales erupted simultaneously with a burning agony for the lost. The joy of salvation simply could not be contained by the believers as every coal mine, tramcar, office, school or ship became a pulpit for the gospel… There was no set pattern of strategy for the witnessing; it was simply born out of an overflowing joy and faith that could not be contained in those who knew the Savior.” – Rick Joyner

Paul had a passion for the lost.

Romans 9:1-3 (NLT) With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience

and the Holy Spirit confirm  it. My heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief for my

people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed—cut off from

Christ!—if that would save them.”

We should share that passion.

“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself,…” 2 Cor 5:19

Woman At Well – Zacchaeus – Woman Issue Of Blood –  Demoniac – Woman Caught Adultery

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) We are Christ’s ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you.

We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, “Be reconciled to God!”

Luke 15:10 “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God

over one sinner  who repents.”

Abraham’s descendants became slaves. Those blessed to be a blessings became captives.

Exodus 2:23, 3:7-8 “Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage …

God hears every “Oh God” today. He has prepared a deliverer.  It is our greatest hour!

“I’m sure some high ranking jerk back in the states has told you that the secret to winning this war is

to die for your country. That is not so! The secret to winning is making the enemy die for his.”

General George Patton

Great teams know how win on their opponents field.

Many believers know how to play on their home field but no idea how to reach the lost.

Ways Jesus Helps Us Be Effective In Reaching The Lost.

Matthew 9:35-10-:1

“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the

gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they

were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples,

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the

harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” And when He had called His twelve disciples to

Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and

all kinds of disease.”

His Example

“Jesus went … preaching…healing”

“Example …the only motivational tool.” Albert Schweitzer

FOUR OBSERVATIONS:

1. JESUS WENT

God took the initiative when He sent Jesus.  Jesus was always prepared to minister the anointing.

As He is so are we in this world. WIJD!!!

2. JESUS SAW

No vision for the lost without real contact.

3. JESUS WAS MOVED

Not have go see, but go see have.

Motivation does not lead to action, action leads to motivation.

Not feel good do what’s right, but do right and feel good.

4. JESUS EXPRESSED COMPASSION

A key motivation for realizing the miraculous is being moved with compassion

Compassion:– pity aroused by the distress of others, with the desire to help them. (Websters)

splagchnizomai :– to be moved as to one’s bowels, inward affection.

14x’s In the KJV compassion was Jesus motivating force.

We must follow Jesus’ example and corresponding action to our pity.

His Exhortation

FOUR THINGS HE WANTS US TO NOTICE

  1. The People

Weary – Scattered – Helpless

2. The Potential

Harvest Is Plentiful

3. The Problem

Labourers are few

4. The Prayer

His Enablement

“He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power…”

ACTS 1:8  “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

ACTS 2:40-41  “And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.”

Pastor Karl, as you did the Welcome Home Card Challenge, why not give out Gospel Tracts & challenge people to pray about who God wants them to give it to…shy people could simply ask for feedback, thus starting a conversation and/or inviting them to Impact
I learned years ago to Witness going through a Gospel Tract with someone.
I still often use Tracts to this day. Just a thought.

Dear Jesus help us to be instruments of your love in drawing the lost to you. Let our lives be a reflection of yours that people we meet everyday will say take me to your leader.

Almighty God, thank You for Jesus’ example as we read the Word. As Jesus was moved with compassion, may we be so very sensitive to Holy Spirit to be moved with compassion for those you put in our path. May that compassion stir us to act on how Holy Spirit is directing us to demonstrate that compassion and manifest boldly Your love, care and mercy. We declare that 2023 will be a year where we see hundreds upon hundreds of souls in London saved, freed, healed and delivered. Thank You, Jesus. In Your mighty Name we pray, Amen.

Father God, you reminded me of a hymn today, part of the lyrics follow:

Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart

I will always remember when I gave my heart to You. It was like removing an old fashioned snowsuit, heavy laden with snow and delving into your warm love. Thank God for my sister Karen in Texas and my co-worker Aileen who listened to your call and prayed for my salvation. Aileen asked me to church and I avoided her for a while. Then after Holy Spirit wooed me, of to church I went, gladly. Those precious ones reached out to me back in 1981 mean so very much to me. I am forever grateful. Thank you Jesus!

Thank You that You are drawing many people to experience Your goodness. Thank You that we can partner with You in Your great rescue plan. Help us to always stay on focus – enjoying Your love and loving people. Let love and compassion for others rise up in those who believe. We ask for our families to meet you. We ask for our friends to meet you. We ask for our neighbours and co-workers to meet you. We ask for strangers to meet you. We ask for Your will – none to perish, but all come to repentance – to come to pass!
