Prayer Is The PowerHouse Of The Church

Charles Spurgeon … London Preacher

“The Prince of Preachers,” Charles Spurgeon built London’s Metropolitan Tabernacle into the world’s largest independent congregation during the nineteenth century.  Over 6000 people would pack the church to hear him preach … thousands more embraced Jesus as their Savior.

He said He would pick text and then make a bee line to the cross.

He called this prayer-room the powerhouse of the church.  “If the engine room is out of action,” Spurgeon explains, “then the whole mill will grind to a halt.  We cannot expect blessing if we do not ask.”

Quotes On Prayer From Spurgeon:

“Earnest intercession will be sure to bring love with it. I do not believe you can hate a man for whom you habitually pray. If you dislike any brother, Christian, pray for him doubly, not only for his sake, but for your own, that you may be cured of prejudice and saved from all unkind feeling.”

“I know of no better thermometer to your spiritual temperature than this, the measure of the intensity of your prayer.”

“No man can do me a truer kindness in this world than to pray for me.”

“All our libraries and studies are mere emptiness compared with our closets. We grow, we wax mighty, we prevail in private prayer.”

“We shall never see much change for the better in our churches in general till the prayer meeting occupies a higher place in the esteem of Christians.”

“Whether we like it or not, asking is the rule of the Kingdom. If you may have everything by asking in His Name, and nothing without asking, I beg you to see how absolutely vital prayer is.”

PRAYER DIRECTIVES:

Acts 12:5 “Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.”

The church was in the place of constant prayer. Spurgeon believed that prayer was the most powerful ministry of the church. We need to see the profile of prayer raised in the hearts of believers today. Pray for that! Pray for a praying church.

This weekend is a weekend of transition for many people. So much activity in the city of London. We pray for the opportunity to minister to people in this season. May their desire to connect with God be heightened and may we serve them at this time. We pray for souls.

We want to see our profile on the University and College campuses grow. We pray for strategies and favour in these areas.

Thank you for the launch of Impact Bridgewater. Bless them in this season!!!  People who can help and people who need help are making their way to Impact church right now. Thank you for resources to do the ministry in Jesus Name!!!

Thank you for our partnership with our Toronto branch of Impact Church at Castlefield and Young. Father we know that you are stirring hears and opening doors. We declare the core of Toronto ablaze with the goodness of God. Knit our hearts together as an Impact team that will see accelerated growth in that strategic location.

May all of our churches be flooded with your presence as we gather!!! The River of God Is Flowing. It is full of life. It is full of power. It brings healing to the nations in and through us!!!

Amen!!!

Father, we pray for a praying church and one that can prophetically release the power of new covenant realties in our world. Thank you for saving London, for giving us your Spirit and qualifying us for all your blessings. Helper, help us to pray, help us to reach more people, and help us as a community of believers to model and provide stability for many in transition. In Jesus name!

Almighty God, we lift up Impact Church on Castlefield , Impact Church in Nova Scotia, and Impact Church in London, to continue to grow in Spirit and in truth. Please give the leadership of all Impact Churches, pearls of Wisdom and Strategy as we begin the fall transition.

Yesterday, we were at one of the large malls here in London, and saw for ourselves the great influx of students to our city, and realized the potential for divine opportunities. (p.s. in checking out the video, we realized that there was no apparent issues with the Pastors teeth. { ha! ha! })

Father, We’re just loving this delicious feast of prayer you have presented to us ! How cool & profound to have an opportunity to “pot luck” (partner/ contribute) with the Master (chef) and creator Jesus Christ. We bring to this prayerful banquet, our petitions, knowing that YOU who started this good work in us, are able to complete it! Thank you Aba Father that your will is being done here on earth (in our Impact churches) as it is in heaven! Whoohoo & Yum 😋, We’re tasting and seeing that YOU Lord, are Good!!👨‍🍳👑👣
