God Needs You To Pray

John 16:23-24 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now (NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE) you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

POSTURE OF PRAYER

“Heaven is full of answers for which no one ever bothered to ask.” Billy Graham
“The great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.”  F. B. Myer

Mark 11:17 “Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”    CHURCH IS WHERE PRAYER HAPPENS
1Thessalonians 5:17   “pray without ceasing,”    Never quit praying

John 15:16 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

“Our gracious, loving heavenly Father…”   J. Karl Thomas
We respond with love to a Heavenly Father who is personal and intimate. We can only give cold compliance to ideas, philosophies and laws. Does He know you?

Luke 11:1-13
Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Our Father in heaven,[a] Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.[b] Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4  And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”[c]
A Friend Comes at Midnight
5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? 8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread[d] from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit (Matthew  to those who ask Him!”

1. Father Wants To Be Engaged
“When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven …”    Father — Radical Shift
Ephesians 2:4 “ But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,…”

2. Father Wants Expectation
“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
Expect answers because it is His will that you RECEIVE, FIND and experience OPEN DOORS!!!

Luke 18:1-8 “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ 4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Matthew 15:21-28  “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” …“Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

vs. 8 persistence Anaideia:— shamelessness, impudence … chutzpah.
Hebrews 4:16  “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

3. Father What’s Best For You
“…how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Matthew 7:7-12 “…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who  ask Him!

Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
Spirit is the best gift because He brings the Kingdom in its fulness.

Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

James 1:16 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of  turning.”

Ephesians 3:14-21
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,[c] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
