Series “#OOTD” – Sermon #7  “Divine Speech”

Ephesians 6:10-13 (TPT) “Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.

Ephesians 6:14 (TPT) “Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph.,…”

Ephesians 6:15 (NLT) “For shoes, (having NKJV) put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.”

Ephesians 6:15 (AMP) “Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

Ephesians 6:17 “Put on salvation as your helmet,”

Hope of salvation guards your mind.

Helmet does three things:   1. Identifies You.  2. Protects You.   3. Emboldens You

1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NLT) “But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence (Hope NKJV) of our salvation.”

It’s not just about being saved—it’s about having a mindset anchored in the confidence that your salvation is secure, your future is bright, and your victory is already won.

Stronghold:– Thought patterns that govern behaviour.

Any area of your life that is not saturated with hope exposes you to a lie that can become a stronghold of the devil.

The helmet blocks the outside noise and allows you to stay focused on the voice of God.

Ephesians 6:17  (NKJV) “…and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”

Ephesians 6:17(AMP)   “…and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.”

The sword of the Spirit is the excellent use of the Quickened Word of God under the power of the Holy Spirit.

Sword (machaira):– a small double edged sword used for cutting and thrusting, hand to hand combat.

Some historians say that the double-edged sword was such a radical new invention in warfare that it had the effect of a nuclear bomb in their time. An instrument of great fear to the enemy.

Rhema:– a Word of faith spoken or uttered, a specific operative, all powerful Word or command of God in the mouth of a spiritual person at the time they need it.

Nick Zaccardi You may not want to hear this, but the Bible is not our sword.  The sword is a spiritual weapon.  As a matter of fact, the devil doesn’t fear the Bible.  He has it memorized.  There are even times that he uses it against God’s people.  It’s the rhema – Word of God that’s our spiritual weapon.  But does that mean I don’t need the Bible?  Absolutely not!  We are to study in order to show ourselves approved to use the rhema. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Luke 1:38-39 “‘For with God nothing (no rhema) will be impossible.’ Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word (rhema).’ And the angel departed from her.”

Luke 5:5  “But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word (rhema)  I will let down the net.’”

Acts 5:20 “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words (rhema) of this life.”

Acts 10:44 “While Peter was still speaking these words (rhema), the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.”

There is an incredible transition in Old Covenant to New Covenant warfare.

God fought for His people in the OLD but He has equipped us to fight through Him to establish His Kingdom in the NEW.

Old Covenant: God fights on our behalf, often working miracles to deliver His people.

New Covenant: God empowers us to fight, providing the tools, the Word, and the Spirit, but calling us to engage actively.

Old Covenant: Victory came through temporary and external means.

New Covenant: Victory is assured through Christ’s finished work and our active faith; we fight from a place of victory

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NIV) “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

Three Pitfalls To Avoid

All Spirit And No Word

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

All Word And No Spirit

John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Romans 8:14 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”        Abraham — Paul

Tradition Of Man

Mark 7:13 “Making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”

Galatians 3:5 “Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”
