WASHED | YOU'RE PERFECT

Series: “Washed” Sermon#2: “You’re Perfect”

John 12:12-13 “The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”

Palm Sunday — On this day:
The lamb was brought for inspection — Leaven was removed from homes
Jesus enters Jerusalem as the Lamb of God — He cleanses the Temple
This is not random—this is divine timing. God is setting the stage for justice.

Exodus 12:3-15 “…a lamb or kid for each house… Your lamb or kid shall be without blemish, a male of the first year; you shall take it from the sheep or the goats… The blood shall be for a token or sign to you…remove leaven from your houses. ”

Revelation 1:5-6 “To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

True redemption is found exclusively through the blood of Jesus.
A working revelation of the blood of Jesus will give you ongoing access to the glory of God.
Where the blood of Jesus flows the Holy Spirit goes.

“The Bible is a book of blood and a bloody book. When we are accused of preaching a Gospel of blood we proudly plead guilty, to the charge for the only thing that gives life to our teaching and power to the Word of God is the fact that it is the blood which is the very life and power of the Gospel.” M.R. De Haan

“The blood and the Spirit always bear testimony together. Where the blood is honored in faith or preaching, there the Spirit works; … He always leads souls to the blood. The Holy Spirit could not be given until the blood was shed. The living bond between the Spirit and the blood cannot be broken.” Andrew Murray

Jesus is the lamb slain from before the foundation of the world.
Redemption through His Blood was always His eternal plan!

1Peter 1:20 “… he was chosen and destined for this before the foundation of the earth was laid, but he has been made manifest in these last days for you.”

“O happy fault that earned for us so great, so glorious a Redeemer.” Ambrose of Milan
felix culpa (Happy Fault)
The covenant that the Father made with His Son took me from from sinful to SONFUL!!!

The fall didn’t defeat God’s plan It revealed something greater: GRACE
Revelation 13:8 “The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Before there was a fall — there was already a Lamb.
God didn’t just solve sin—He outplanned it.

Ephesians 1:4-5 “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”

“The death of Christ was not an afterthought. It was the centerpiece of God’s eternal plan.”
John Piper
Before God ever said, “Let there be light” — There was already a conversation about the cross.

Adam: {aw-dawm‘} a compound of two words; Blood and Ground. God designed man to be a blood creation. He put the life in the blood. He did this because of His eternal plan of redemption.

Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’”

John 1:29 “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’”

“Scripture teaches … that life lies in the blood. Blood, therefore , is the mysterious link between matter and spirit. …certain it is that this is the mysterious link which unite these apparently dissimilar things together, so that the soul can inhabit the body, and the life can rest in the blood”
  C.H. Spurgeon

1 Peter 1:19  “…but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
Acts 20:28 “… the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”

Hebrews 9:7,22 “…not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:”
“…without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin and its guilt nor the remission of the due and merited punishment for sins.”

Hebrews 10:14, 13:20-21 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” “…through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ;…”

1 Peter 2:24 “…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

2 Corinthians 5:19-21 (NLT) “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. … For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”

Hebrew 4:15 (AMP)For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin.”

Jesus as a man overcame every trial and temptation.
He alone was a completely righteous man, fully manifest.
You are righteous by grace through faith. It is a gift of God.
The blood of Jesus isn’t God fixing a Jewish problem—it’s God healing a human one.

Ephesians 2:11-13 “Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh… having no hope and without God in the world.  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

The Father does not inspect you He inspects His Son. “The Lamb of God”
He is PERFECT! You are PERFECT!

“The Holy Spirit never brings condemnation He always reveals the blood.” Smith Wigglesworth
“His blood is so powerful that to mention it in prayer is the equivalent of placing dynamite under Satan's fortifications and blasting them to pieces." Dick Mills

Jesus did not ride into Jerusalem to condemn the world:
He rode in to reclaim it. Not with a sword, but with surrender.
Not to destroy sinners, but to destroy sin.

This is the justice of God:
Love refusing to leave us broken. Love burning away everything that is not love.
Love conquering the world, one heart at a time.
