UNPACK | Preparing To Possess The Promise

Preparing To Possess The Promise
Are there things we can do. NOW. To prepare for what’s Next?
Two things to consider:
1. No matter where you are — There YOU ARE. — New view doesn’t mean new you.
2. Knowing what is NEXT doesn’t mean you’re READY. “I Do” - Not the same as - “I Can”
“The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital.” Joe Paterno
“By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail.” Benjamin Franklin
Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day.”
Romans 8:17 (TPT). “And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.”
Graham Cooke
“When God gives you a prophetic word, He gives you an outcome. If you have a prophetic word, the outcome means you're going to survive the process of getting there.”
“Each promise contains the grace to sustain us through every process. Even when circumstances seem contrary, the outcome of His word remains secure. We're learning to live from the future that God already sees. A future defined by His faithfulness, not our struggle.”
Regret:-- sorrow over an unfulfilled ambition.
Second most expressed emotion is regret. Second only to love.
I wish ... _____________. If only ... ______________
Joshua = Jesus
As Joshua led God’s people to possess the promise Jesus will lead us to possess the promise.
Book of Battle -- Drive out enemy. Book of Faith -- Receive Victory
New Possess Mindset! — Slavery to Landowner. — Traveller to Conqueror. — Taker to Giver
Collecting to Partnering — Helpless to Fruitful — Dreams to Reality
Joshua 1:1-2
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: ‘Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.’”
1. Release
Time to stop grieving. Leave the past in the past!!!
Moses can’t lead you in. Jesus will lead you to possess.
Romans 8:31-32 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
What do you need to UNPACK right now? What is not going to be a part of NEXT?
2. Reflect
When God states the obvious He wants you to dig a little deeper.
Push back on unhealthy mindsets.
Something need rooting out!
James 1:22-25 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
You don’t just look in the mirror! A mirror demands action.
You don’t leave until you are done. You make changes because the seasons of life are connected.
You will experience the best of The next season when you do what God has called you to do in this season.
The result: Freedom and Blessing
3. Resolve
To decide firmly on a course of action.
“Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan…”
Philippians 3:13-14 “I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.
I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.”
The Placebo Effect:— What you believe and expect is a determining factor.
Your actions will follow your thought life.
The mind is powerful.
Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
NOT
As a man behaves so he is.
You will know him by is fruit.
Fruit comes from Identity.
Let’s get fixed in a possession mindset. I have an INHERITANCE!
