Eucharist:– gratitude, thanks /grace
Not a call to commiserate his suffering or our sin, but a call to commemorate His
announcement of triumph. “It is finished!”

Covenant :— a solemn agreement between two parties for the purposes of creating and maintaining a successful relationship.
You don’t take communion, you receive communion.

Sacrament:—from Latin, oath of allegiance; A rite believed to be a means of or visible form of grace.
A deposit by two parties seeking to secure justice. God – Grace Man – Faith

Genesis 14:18-24
Abraham recovered his family and all that was stolen from him … Then met by two kings.
King of Righteousness and peace … King of Sodom … To cities with different destinies.

“Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;  And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.
Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.”
22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’— (This world will not be the source of my blessing) 24 except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.”

Matthew 26:26-30
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed[b] and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new[c] covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Luke 24:30-31
“Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened (WHEN?) and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.”

In me you see the priesthood of Melchizedek restored.
I have united the role of King and Priest.
Participation in the covenant makes us kings and priests.

Hebrews 7:15-17
“And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. For He testifies: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek”

Hebrews 10:11-12
“And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,…”

Revelation 5:9-10
“…redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

2 Details In Relation To His Body
1
 Recognizing
Seeing below the surface.
a. Revelation of finished work accomplished in His body.   … I have what He says I have … Expecting!
b. Revelation of His redeemed community. Seeing Him in one another.

1 Corinthians 11:28-30
“But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.”

2 Participation
1 Corinthians 10:17 “For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.”
We are one loaf … One community in Christ.
Movie (The Gladiator) “As One!”

John 6:53-54  “Then Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.””

3 Details In Relation To Christ
Remembrance
1 Corinthians 11:24, 25 “This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”   “Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.” (AMP)
His Love … His Finished Work!

Romans 8:32  “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”  You get in a spot remember who you are what you have!!!

2 Proclamation
1 Corinthians 11:26 “…you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”
Through the act of communion we preach to the entire cosmos, things seen and unseen, that Jesus Christ, The Son of God, has redeemed all things to himself.
3 Expectation
1 Corinthians 11:26
“…you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”
The personal return of Jesus will cause the cosmos to experience complete restoration!!!
Revelation 22:20 “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

One Detail In Relation To The World
1 Separation
1Corinthians 10:21-22 “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?”

God is our source in every way.

Eucharist:– gratitude, thanks /grace  …  Not a call to commiserate his suffering or our sin, but a call to commemorate His announcement of triumph. “It is finished!”
