What Not To Wear Series# 4, But God
By: Pastor Karl Thomas

The Kingdom of God is eternal but DOMINION is generational.
Acts 13:36 ”For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep,…”
Ps 115:16 “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.”

Genesis 1:28 NKJV  “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”   TLV “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the land, and conquer it.”

Subdue” (kabash) :— conquer, subjugate, bring into bondage, force, keep under, subdue, bring into subjection.  Kibosh :— to eliminate, terminate   “Put the Kibosh on that!”

Genesis 2:15  “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
“Keep It” Shamar:— to keep, guard, keep watch and ward, protect, save life and protect …
What are they guarding against?   God’s Enemies.

Ephesians 6:10-13  “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,…”
“…against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

wrestle:— (pal’-ay) a contest between two in which each endeavours to throw the other, and which is decided when the victor is able to hold his opponent down with his hand upon his neck.
Romans 16:20 “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.”

Mankind is to protect (shamar) the eternal purpose of God and to once and for all put the KIBOSH (kabash) on His enemies!!!  In our contending with the devil we have a command to Stand and a command to Wrestle.

James 3:16 (KJV) “For where envying (zeros:— fanatical) and strife is, (eritheii:—  party spirit, political) there is confusion (akatastasia:— disorder, anarchy) and every evil work (phaulos:— foul, exceedingly vile).

Rick Renner (PRAPHRASE) “For where there is a fierce desire to promote one’s own ideas and convictions to the exclusion of everyone else, it produces divisions so great that people end up taking sides and forming differing parties with conflicting agendas. This is a terrible event, because it creates great unrest among people who should be united. Ultimately, the whole situation becomes a stinking mess!”

Watchman Nee (Sit Walk Stand)  “For our part, (STAND) we need not struggle to occupy ground that is already ours. In Christ we are conquerors, nay, “more than conquerors” (Rom. 8: 37). In Him, therefore, we stand. Thus, today we do not fight for victory; we fight from victory.

“… We do not fight in order to win, but because in Christ we have already won. Overcomers are those who rest in the victory already given to them by their God. When you fight to get the victory, then you have lost the battle at the very outset.”

HEAVENLY PLACES  Ephesians 1:3-6  “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,…”    Chosen in Him before we were lost in Adam.
“…that we should be holy and without blame before Him (in His sight – Eye to eye) in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
Ephesians 1:20-21  “He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”

Ephesians 2:1-7 “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others…”
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace…”

Ephesians 3:10-11  “God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Redeem a community of people to manifest His goodness through!!!

Ephesians 6:12  “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Acts 19:13-16  “Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, ‘We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul Preaches’ Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so…”
“… And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

Galatians 3:26-27 “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

Ephesians 4:24 “and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Colossians 2:9-10
“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete (plaroo) in Him, (IN UNION WITH HIM) who is the head of all principality and power.”
Complete:— to furnish liberally, to fill to the top: so that nothing shall be wanting to full measure, fill to the brim.

Jesus I Know.     Paul I Know.     _______ I Know.
