#162 F-Bomb 2: Fear

OVERCOMING FEAR

Your words are extremely important, you are constantly creating with your words whether their good or bad, faith filled words or fear based words.  This is how God created all things (by the power of His word).  He said it and saw it; He said it and saw it.  Then He said… “Let us make man in our own image and likeness”. (Gen.1:26)

Wikepedia’s Definition – Fear is an emotion induced by a threat perceived by living entities, which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately a change in behavior, such as running away, hiding or freezing from traumatic events. Fear may occur in response to a specific stimulus happening in the present, or to a future situation, which is perceived as risk to health or life, status, power, security, or in the case of humans wealth or anything held valuable. The fear response arises from the perception of danger leading to confrontation with or escape from/avoiding the threat (also known as the fight-or-flight response), which in extreme cases of fear (horror and terror) can be a freeze response or paralysis.
In humans and animals, fear is modulated by the process of cognition and learning. Thus fear is judged as rational or appropriate and irrational or inappropriate. An irrational fear is called a phobia.
Fear should be distinguished from, but is closely related to, the emotion anxiety, which occurs as the result of threats which are perceived to be uncontrollable or unavoidable.[1]
The fear response serves survival by generating appropriate behavioral responses, as it has been preserved throughout evolution

Bible Definition: Mostly in the Old Testament the word “Fear” is in reference to Reverencing God.  The Hebrew word “MORA” as a noun describes Fear like this… “fear, reverence, revering, object of reverence ,awe-inspiring spectacle or deed. worship, respect, admoration.

In the verb form the word is “YARE” meaning… “to fear, revere, to stand in awe of, be awed , to reverence, to honour, to respect, to worship, to have adoration towards, to cause astonishment and awe, be held in awe, to inspire reverence or Godly fear or awe.

Now in the New Testament Jesus and the Apostles talked about another type of fear… which in the Greek is translated, “penal infliction.
“Penal” means… it simply means involving punishment, very severe disciplinary action, terror, frozen with anguish, confinement, torment, the allowing of manipulation of being afraid as opposed to being led by the faith and reverence of God.
BUT JESUS BROKE THOSE CHAINS OF CONFINEMENT OFF US AMEN!

Now the world sees fear in a totally different way than the church should.  They see only by the 5 senses therefore they’re reaction can only be by their 5 senses.
The church of the Lord Jesus Christ SHOULD view fear supernaturally and we SHOULD view fear as defeated and dealt with!
Therefore our response to fear should be dealt with supernatural authority in the Name of Jesus and with a victorious attitude that it has already been overcome for us!

Jiddu Krishnamurti – (an Indian speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects.)“What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means watch it, learn about it, come directly into contact with it.  We are to learn about fear, not learn how to escape from it”.

Cyril Conolly  – (was an English intellectual, literary critic and writer.)  “Hate is the consequence of fear”.

Ian  Rush – ( was a Welsh former soccer player,  Rush played for Liverpool F.C.) “And the things that we fear are a weapon to be held against us”.

Britney Spears – (is a recording artist and entertainer) “I’m not at the point where I feel safe in my house alone.  I am really scared.  I’m the kind of person that when I get up to go use the bathroom, I have to go down this big long hallway, and I know someone’s going to jump out and get me”.

Chuck Palahniuk – (is an American novelist and freelance journalist,) “Find out what you’re afraid of and go and live there”.

The words “fear” or “Fear Not” or “don’t be afraid” show up in the bible approx. 365 times

It’s obvious that God wants our attention concerning this matter, this is what our enemy is made up of… “the fear” that Jesus and the Apostles often spoke about “was” and “is” the root issue and problem in many believers lives.

Fear breeds… unsurety, faithlessness, stagnant   movement, stops you from building godly relationships, no trust, no confidence, anxiety, unforgiveness, anger, rash/ bad decision making, to name a few.

Prov.6:16-19 are the 7 things God hates, or (is eternally in opposition to) – ALL FEAR based.

Fear is “Faith” in death! If fear is defeated… death is defeated! (Rev.1:17-18)
The (Amp) says it like this, “ When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He laid His right hand on me and said, Do not be afraid! I am the First and the Last,
18 And the Ever-living One [I am living in the eternity of the eternities]. I died, but see, I am alive forevermore; and I possess the keys of death and Hades (the realm of the dead).

Quote by Kenneth Copeland – , “When fear and sin are present in your life, your spirit man starts pulling faith from all of the “Fruits of the Spirit” operating in your life, in order to battle off that sin.  Your spirit man will start pulling faith from your family, your health, your relationships, your finances, in order to defend you”!

This is what fear will set out to do if we don’t remind fear of its already demise and put it where it belongs RIGHT AWAY!  It is a life taker!  Not a life giver!

FEAR TOLERATED IS FAITH CONTAMINATED!

And we know what (Heb.11:6) says, “ But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”.

Get revelation on how we believers deal with the lie of fear.  Because fear has already been dealt with and destroyed. The revelation we’re to get is “maintain” what Jesus “obtained” for us and we won’t fear anything or anyone.

What dispell’s fear from our everyday lives?  THE LOVE OF GOD.

The Kingdom of God operates by Spiritual laws; it was Spiritual laws that created natural things.  These laws were created and put into place by God and no matter what you try doing you cannot change them.  You can work with them or against them but you cannot change them.

Example: we can’t change the laws of physics… H + 2 + O will always = Water!

In order for this law to change, different elements must be introduced or taken away.   Likewise with our lifestyles… if we don’t change things in our lives to fit the Word of God we won’t get God kind of results.

We never try to change the Word of God to fit our lifestyle… We’re to change our lifestyle to fit the Word of God.    Saying and doing the same thing and expecting different results is “operating in insanity”!

In order to get out of a fear based mentality, we have to change the elements and process to get the results the bible says we’re supposed to be living.

Now the greatest law Jesus made to known to the new covenant church was the law of Love.
(Matt.22:37- 40)  The Pharisees were trying to trap Jesus and see if He was the real deal.  One of them asked Him a question about the greatest commandment in the law…scripture says, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind and strength.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

(Example : Curtain rod of Love) – LOVE is the curtain rod… all the hooks on the rod that would hold up the curtain would be, FAITH, JOY, PEACE, PROSPERITY, DIVINE HEALTH, PATIENCE, ETC.  “If the rod falls down… everything falls with the rod”.  That’s why the LOVE walk is the foundation to everything, it has to remain strong and secure.

In order for “FAITH” TO WORK AND BE PRESENT IN A TIME WHEN FEAR TRIES TO ATTACK, “LOVE” NEEDS TO BE WORKING AND EVIDENT.
FAITH is the “Activator”.  But LOVE is the “Motivator”.  Love isn’t dependant of Faith working… but Faith IS dependent on Love working.
Fear is always motivated & manifested from your flesh or a fleshly thought or action.  Love is always motivated and manifested by the Spirit of God. Rom.8:1-2
The Love in our lives always needs to be vertical before it can ever be horizontal.  The love you have for Jesus has to be the #1 thing in your life. (Over and above ALL the relationships you have here on earth.

If I love Him first just as His commandment said in (Matt.22) then my horizontal relationships will flourish because I’m“loving” out of HIS unconditional love not my own conditional love.

The God kind of Love is the 1 and only thing that will free us from fear.  Not our concept of humanistic love which dictates, “I’ll love you depending on what you can do for me”.  No…

The “Love of God dictates I’ll love you “INSPITE” of what you do to me or can give me”.

1st John 4:7-21 THE SOURCE OF LOVE AND HOW THERE IS “NO FEAR” IN GOD’S LOVE.

QUESTION?  “How do I attain perfected love”?  We find the answer in 1st John 2:3-5

6 POINTS TO GO HOME WITH:

1.    WATCH YOUR WORDS. (Prov. 18:21)

2.    FEAR IS FAITH MOVING BACKWARDS, IT PRODUCES EVERYTHING OPPOSITE TO WHAT THE WORD SAYS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR RIGHTFUL AUTHORITY.  (Prov.1:27)

3.    FEAR CAN ONLY BE REMOVED FROM OUR LIVES BY ACCEPTING THAT JESUS ALREADY DEALT WITH IT THROUGH THE LOVE OF GOD.  (1ST JOHN 4:18)

4.    ABIDE IN THE LAW OF LOVE.  (MATT.22:37-40)

5.    LOVE MOTIVATES OUR FAITH.  (ROM.10:17 & JOHN 1:1&14)

6.    PER-FECT THE GOD KIND OF LOVE BY STAYING IN HIS WORD.  (1ST JOHN 2:3-5)
